Is Body Contouring Ideal For You? Three Questions That Can Help You Decide

If you have stubborn pockets of fat on your body that you cannot lose through diet or exercise, body contouring may be ideal for you. This is a non-invasive procedure that uses heat, motion and lasers to melt away stubborn body fat. But this procedure is not right for everyone. If you are considering it, here are three questions you should ask yourself to help determine if it is right for you.

How Close to Your Ideal Weight Are You?

One of the first questions you should ask yourself when determining if body contouring is right for you is how close to your ideal weight you are. Body contouring is ideal for those who are already at or very close to their ideal body weight. If you are looking to drop ten pounds or more, body contouring is typically not right for you. You should get as close as possible to your ideal body weight and to the point where you are no longer losing weight to have this procedure done. This helps to ensure the procedure is removing only stubborn fat you cannot lose on your own and helps to contour your body correctly.

Is Your Skin or Muscles Sagging?

If you have lost a substantial amount of weight, your skin or muscles may be sagging. Many people want to not only remove stubborn fat stores, but they may also want to tighten the muscles up and remove loose skin. Body contouring only helps you to remove fat. It cannot remove skin or tighten up sagging muscles. As such, if your goals include either of these two things, or if you are concerned that your skin will sag when you remove the fat store, body contouring may not be right for you.

How Quickly Do You Want to See Results?

The last question you need to ask yourself is how quickly you want to see results. Many women find themselves torn between liposuction and body contouring. Body contouring is non-invasive and much safer than liposuction. However, you typically have to have multiple treatments to see results. This means that it can take weeks or months until you see the results. If you want results right away, liposuction may be the better choice for you. If you can wait for results, body contouring may be better for you.

If you have stubborn body fat you cannot lose on your own, body contouring may be ideal for you. However, liposuction and tummy tucks may also help to remove the stubborn fat. Asking yourself the above questions will help you determine which if body contouring, or another cosmetic procedure, may be better suited for you.
